Terms And Conditions
- Capstone Auto Trans acts solely as a broker. While we strive to meet requested timelines, no guarantee of pickup or delivery dates is made due to potential carrier delays, weather, or mechanical failure. Capstone is not responsible for secondary costs like rental cars or airline tickets resulting from these delays.
- The client agrees not to contract any other broker or carrier during the shipping period. Engaging multiple services simultaneously interferes with the dispatch process and makes the client subject to a non-refundable deposit fee.
- Carriers provide door-to-door transport where physically and legally possible. If access is restricted (By law, narrow streets, low trees), the client must meet the driver at a safe nearby parking lot for inspection and signing the Bill of Lading (BOL).
- Carriers are not insured for household goods. A maximum of 100 lbs of personal items is allowed in the trunk only at the owner’s risk. Improper loading causing damage is the client’s responsibility, and misrepresentation may result in a $150 dry-run fee.
- Vehicles must be provided in good running condition with less than a half-tank of fuel. Carriers are not liable for damage from leaking fluids, freezing, or loose antennas. Non-operational vehicles incur a $150 fee.
- All cargo damage claims fall directly and exclusively under the carrier’s responsibility. Carriers provide cargo insurance ($100k – $250k). Capstone Auto Trans does not provide direct insurance and is not liable for carrier negligence.
- If a vehicle is not ready during the scheduled window, a $75 rescheduling fee applies. If the vehicle becomes unavailable after an order is placed, the deposit is non-refundable.
- No vehicle should be released or received without a signed inspection report (BOL). Damage must be noted on the BOL at the time of delivery and reported to Capstone within 24 hours. Failure to note damage on the final BOL releases the carrier of liability.
- Cancellations must be made via phone or email at least 24 hours before the pickup date. Dispatched orders canceled within this window are subject to a $200 non-refundable fee.
- The shipper warrants they will pay the quoted price and agrees not to seek a credit card chargeback. This agreement is subject to the carrier’s specific tariff and uniform bill of lading.
- If the shipper is unavailable for pickup or delivery, they must appoint an alternate representative to perform the inspection and sign the BOL on their behalf.
- Capstone is not liable for losses due to third-party hacking, email spoofing, or communication breaches. Once a dispatch sheet is issued, it is the client’s sole responsibility to verify the driver’s ID and Insurance Certificate (COI) at pickup to ensure they match the dispatch details.
- The remaining balance must be paid to the carrier upon delivery. If the client is unable or refuses to pay, the carrier is authorized to place the vehicle in a storage facility at the client’s expense. The client will be responsible for all storage and redelivery fees, and the carrier maintains a legal lien on the vehicle until all charges are cleared.
