Door-to-door shipping offers the convenience of choosing your specific pickup and delivery points. The independent carrier will get as close to your door as legally and safely possible. If local restrictions or narrow streets prevent direct access, a nearby parking lot will be designated for the handover and BOL inspection. All transport liability resides with the carrier once the vehicle is loaded.
Open auto transport
Open auto shipping is the most common and cost-effective method. Cars are transported on open trailers, allowing carriers to move multiple vehicles simultaneously. For this service, the assigned carrier provides $100,000 in cargo insurance. All liability for the vehicle’s safety and insurance coverage lies solely with the independent carrier from the moment of pickup until delivery.
Enclosed Vehicle Transport
Enclosed transport provides maximum protection for luxury, classic, or high-value vehicles from weather and road debris. These trailers carry fewer vehicles, ensuring premium handling. For this service, the assigned carrier provides up to $250,000 in cargo insurance. All liability and insurance coverage are the sole responsibility of the independent carrier once the vehicle is loaded.
Expedited vehicle shipping
When urgent transport is required, our expedited shipping service prioritizes fast carrier assignment to your route. Vehicle title and registration are usually not needed for standard domestic transport, but must be available if delivery involves a port, internal auction facility, or certain state-regulated checkpoints. Please ensure the vehicle, keys, and required paperwork are ready at the scheduled time to avoid delays or dry-run fees. While Capstone Auto Trans accelerates logistics and carrier vetting, all transit times are professional estimates provided by the assigned carrier, who holds direct responsibility for the vehicle under their own cargo insurance policy.
Hawaii
Shipping your vehicle to Hawaii (Kauai, O’ahu, Maui, or the Big Island) is facilitated via port-to-port or door-to-port services. Estimated transit times are 14-19 days from NYC, 13-18 days from Chicago, and 8-12 days from LA. Please note that the independent carrier’s liability and insurance coverage end once the vehicle is safely delivered and checked into the departure port. Any subsequent liability during ocean transit resides with the shipping line. Clients are responsible for ensuring all port documentation and "Matson" or "Pasha" requirements are met before the carrier's arrival at the terminal.

While you may include one suitcase or box (under 100 lbs.) in the trunk, please be advised that personal items are not covered by the carrier’s cargo insurance. The assigned driver retains the right to inspect the trunk for prohibited items per FMCSA safety regulations. Capstone Auto Trans and the carrier assume no liability for the loss or damage of any personal belongings left inside the vehicle. Ensure your vehicle is ready for the joint inspection and BOL signing upon the carrier's arrival.

While the government may authorize shipping at their expense through the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), many members choose our private brokerage for faster, direct-to-door service. We connect you with independent, insured carriers who assume direct liability for your vehicle under their cargo insurance policy. Our team facilitates the logistics and vetting, but we advise military members to verify the carrier’s credentials and insurance coverage during the joint inspection and BOL signing at pickup. We ensure a streamlined process that adheres to all base access and safety regulations. To honor our service personnel, we offer a 10% discount on our services.
